{"id":101200,"date":"2023-12-08T12:48:27","date_gmt":"2023-12-08T17:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/?post_type=support&#038;p=101200"},"modified":"2025-03-12T12:29:18","modified_gmt":"2025-03-12T16:29:18","slug":"configure-google-workspace-identity-provider","status":"publish","type":"support","link":"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/configure-google-workspace-identity-provider","title":{"rendered":"Configure Google Workspace as an Identity Provider"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Integrate an existing Identity Provider (IdP) with 探花大神 to allow users to securely authenticate using their IdP credentials to gain access to their managed resources.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prerequisites<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>You need to have a Google Cloud account with the permission to create new Google Cloud Projects .&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You need to have Admin with Billing permissions to configure an IdP.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Federated authentication will be applied to only specific user groups. See <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/routing-policies-for-identity-providers\">Routing Policies for Identity Providers<\/a> to learn more. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Creating the IdP won&#8217;t automatically result in users logging in with that IdP. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>User Portal access will be available with a federated login. If you don\u2019t want User Portal access, you can create a policy to deny this, see <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/get-started-conditional-access-policies\">Get Started: Conditional Access Policies<\/a> to learn more.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In order to provision users from your Google Workspace directory to 探花大神, see <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/google-workspace-sync\">Configure the Google Cloud Directory Sync<\/a> to learn more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have third party SSO for your organization turned on in Google Workspace, you&#8217;ll need to turn it off for it to work with 探花大神. See <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/sso-with-google-workspace#to-configure-google-sso-profile(s)\">Configuring an Organization-wide Third Party SSO Profile<\/a> to learn more. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Preparing your IdP to Configure with 探花大神<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To prepare your connection:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your Google Cloud Console.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next to the logo in the top left corner, click the dropdown menu, then in the top right corner of the modal, click <strong>NEW PROJECT<\/strong>. You\u2019ll need these to configure Google Cloud in 探花大神. Then click <strong>OK<\/strong> to exit out of the modal.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, you have a connection to 探花大神 in Google Cloud. Next, you\u2019ll want to configure the connection in 探花大神.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Configuring Google Cloud as an IdP in 探花大神<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To configure Google Cloud:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your <a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">探花大神 Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>DIRECTORY<\/strong> <strong>INTEGRATIONS<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Identity Providers<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Add Identity Provider<\/strong> dropdown menu, and select <strong>Google<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter an <strong>Identity Provider Name<\/strong>* as a display name (i.e. Google OIDC).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under <strong>Google IdP URL*<\/strong>, enter <a href=\"https:\/\/accounts.google.com\">https:\/\/accounts.google.com<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For <strong>Client ID*<\/strong>, paste in the first URL that you copied into your clipboard.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For <strong>Client Secret<\/strong>, paste in the secret that you copied into your clipboard.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Save<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Managing the IdP&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To manage the IdP:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>From your <a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">探花大神 Admin Portal<\/a>, click <strong>DIRECTORY<\/strong> <strong>INTEGRATIONS<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Identity Providers<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can update the name, Google IdP URL, Client ID, and Client Secret.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under <strong>Authentication<\/strong>, you\u2019ll see that Federation is applied to your users, allowing them to authenticate with an IdP.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under <strong>Device Account Provisioning<\/strong>, you can configure either <strong>Self Service Account Provisioning<\/strong> or <strong>Automated Device Enrollment<\/strong> for whichever OS you\u2019re provisioning.
