Automatically provision, update and deprovision users and groups in Thrive Learning from 探花大神 using the Identity Management (SCIM) integration. Leverage this integration to centralize user lifecycle, user identity, and organization (group) management in 探花大神 for Thrive Learning. Save time and avoid mistakes, as well as potential security risks, related to manually creating users and organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read this article to learn how to configure the Thrive Learning integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prerequisites<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Thrive Learning administrator account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>探花大神 administrator account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact the <a href=\"mailto:support@thrivelearning.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Thrive Learning Support team<\/a> and request them to do the following:\n<ul>\n<li>Enable SAML 2.0 for your account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide the ACS URL value.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide the SP Entity ID (also referred to as Audience URI) value.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SCIM bearer token from Thrive Learning support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Only an SP-initiated SAML flow is supported by Thrive Learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Thrive Learning Support team must be sent the metadata file to&nbsp; complete the configuration in Thrive Learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SAML SSO is recommended, but not required, to setup the SCIM integration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Thrive Learning Support team must be sent a list of existing users that will have SAML SSO enabled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All users created after SAML SSO is enabled and all existing users for whom you request to have SAML SSO enabled will not be able to use username\/password to sign in.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Syncing Manager is not supported.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thrive Learning\u2019s SCIM API is based on version 2.0 of the&nbsp;SCIM standard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Groups are supported.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Group Management Considerations<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Enabling Group Management<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>You must select the&nbsp;<strong>Enable management of User Groups and Group Membership in this application<\/strong>&nbsp;option to manage groups and group membership in the application from 探花大神.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Group Provisioning and Syncing&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Empty groups are not created<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>探花大神 takes over management of existing groups in the application when the user group name in 探花大神 matches the name of the group in the application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All user groups associated with the application in 探花大神 are synced. Syncing occurs whenever there is a membership or group change event<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Group renaming is supported<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If a user group is disassociated from the application in 探花大神, syncing immediately stops and the group is left as-is in the application. All members of that user group are deactivated in the application unless they are associated with another active application group that is managed from 探花大神<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Group Deletion<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Managed groups deleted in 探花大神 are deleted in the application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All members of the deleted group are deactivated in the application, unless they are associated with another active application group that is managed from 探花大神<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Disabling Group Management<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>You can disable group and group membership management by unchecking the\u00a0<strong>Enable management of User Groups and Group Membership in this application<\/strong>\u00a0option<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The managed groups and group membership are left as-is in the application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>探花大神 stops sending group membership information for the user, but the user\u2019s identity will continue to be managed from 探花大神<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"attribute-considerations\"><strong>Attribute Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A default set of attributes are managed for users. See&nbsp;<a href=\"#attribute-mappings\">Attribute Mappings<\/a>&nbsp;for more details.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-creating-a-new-jumpcloud-application-integration\"><strong>Creating a new 探花大神 Application Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">探花大神 Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>USER AUTHENTICATION\u00a0<\/strong>&gt;\u00a0<strong>SSO<\/strong> <strong>Applications<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>+&nbsp;Add New Application<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type the name of the application in the <strong>Search <\/strong>field and select it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the <strong>Display Label<\/strong>, type your name for the application. Optionally, you can enter a <strong>Description<\/strong>, adjust the User Portal Image and choose to hide or <strong>Show in User Portal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>If this is a Bookmark Application, enter your sign-in URL in the <strong>Bookmark URL<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>Optionally, expand <strong>Advanced Settings<\/strong> to specify a value for the<strong> SSO IdP URL<\/strong>. If no value is entered, it will default to <kbd>https:\/\/sso.jumpcloud.com\/saml2\/&lt;applicationname&gt;<\/kbd>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card warning\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/warning-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Warning:<\/strong> \n<p>The <strong>SSO IdP URL<\/strong> is not editable after the application is created. You will have to delete and recreate the connector if you need to edit this field at a later time.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>Click <strong>Save Application<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If successful, click:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Configure Application<\/strong> and go to the next section <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Close<\/strong> to configure your new application at a later time <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Configuring the SSO<\/strong> <strong>Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To configure 探花大神<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"#creating-a-new-jumpcloud-application-integration\">Create a new application<\/a>&nbsp;or select it from the&nbsp;<strong>Configured Application<\/strong>s list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>SSO <\/strong>tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the&nbsp;<strong>SP Entity ID<\/strong>&nbsp;field, enter the value provided by Thrive Learning Support. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>They may refer to it as the <strong>Audience URI<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>In the&nbsp;<strong>ACS URL<\/strong>&nbsp;field, enter the value provided by Thrive Learning Support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the field terminating the IdP URL, either leave the default value or enter a plaintext string unique to this connector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select&nbsp;<strong>save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Download the certificate<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Find&nbsp;your application in the&nbsp;<strong>Configured Applications<\/strong>&nbsp;list and click anywhere in the row to reopen its configuration window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>SSO <\/strong>tab and click <strong>IDP Certificate Valid &gt; Download certificate<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card tip\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/tip-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Tip:<\/strong> \n<p>The certificate.pem will download to your local <strong>Downloads<\/strong> folder.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To configure Thrive Learning<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your Thrive Learning company site as an administrator.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the toolbar on the top, click&nbsp;<strong>Company<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the&nbsp;<strong>Settings&nbsp;<\/strong>tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>SAML<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Enable SAML<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the\u00a0<strong>Identity provider SSO<\/strong>\u00a0URL textbox, paste the 探花大神 <strong>IDP URL<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open your downloaded certificate in a text editor file and copy the contents of the file.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Paste it into the&nbsp;<strong>Identity provider certificate&nbsp;<\/strong>textbox.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"authorizing-user-sso-access\"><strong>Authorizing User SSO Access<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Users are implicitly denied access to applications. After you connect an application to 探花大神, you need to authorize user access to that application. You can authorize user access from the <strong>Application Configuration<\/strong> panel or from the <strong>Groups Configuration<\/strong> panel.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To authorize user access from the Application Configuration panel<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">探花大神 Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to <strong>USER AUTHENTICATION &gt; SSO<\/strong> <strong>Applications<\/strong>, then select the application to which you want to authorize user access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>User Groups<\/strong> tab.
