Integrate your 探花大神 account with Tableau Online (Tableau) through an identity management connector. After you connect 探花大神 with Tableau, you can provision, update, and deprovision users in Tableau through your 探花大神 Administrator Portal.&nbsp;Leverage this integration for centralized user lifecycle management and get immediate attribute management of users bound to integrated applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read this article to learn how to integrate Tableau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prerequisites<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A 探花大神 administrator account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>探花大神 SSO Package or higher or SSO \u00e0 la carte option<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A Tableau administrator account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your Tableau Online alias<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Default members must be added to your Tableau groups ahead of time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>SSO for Tableau is recommended, not required, prior to creating an Identity Management integration. SSO simplifies the login process for your users and reduces the number of usernames and passwords they have to remember.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Tableau SCIM integration uses\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tools.ietf.org\/html\/rfc7644\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SCIM v2 protocol<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you delete an integrated Tableau application from your Applications list, the application is removed from 探花大神, but any previously bound users remain active in Tableau. These users will be able log in to Tableau with the password they used prior to enablement of SSO to the Tableau application from your 探花大神 account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you deactivate the Identity Management on your Tableau application, previously bound users remain active in Tableau and able to authenticate using SSO. No further updates will be made to user accounts via the Identity Management integration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you need to update your token, you must\u00a0<a href=\"#to-deactivate-the-idm-integration\">deactivate the IdM integration<\/a>, update the token, and then reactivate the IdM integration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the site admin\u2019s role changes or the user is removed from the site, the secret token becomes invalid, and another site administrator must generate a new secret token and apply it to the configuration in 探花大神.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If a user\u2019s password expires in 探花大神, their account becomes suspended and they are deactivated in all applications that have Identity Management configured and, are associated to them. Once the user\u2019s password is updated, the account and previously associated applications are reactivated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Groups are supported<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"attribute-considerations\"><strong>Attribute Considerations<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A default set of attributes are managed for users. See the\u00a0<a href=\"#attribute-mappings\">Attribute Mappings<\/a>\u00a0section for more details<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tableau does not support Sync Password functionality. The Password attribute is ignored.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The username and primary email attributes must match.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tableau only supports one primary email.\n<ul>\n<li>Email addresses that have a \u2018+\u2019 in the username are not supported for SSO. The user is successfully created via the SCIM integration. However, the user won\u2019t be able to log in with this type of email address.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tableau sets deactivated user&#8217;s roles as Unlicensed.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If SSO is not enabled, new users are prompted to provide a first name, last name, and password when they sign in to Tableau for the first time. First Name and Last Name attributes are not synced to Tableau via SCIM.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Display Name is not propagated to Tableau.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Display name is set to the SCIM name.formatted value. If first name and last name were not set in 探花大神, the value is not provided. Tableau will set the display name to the user\u2019s email address. This also applies if only the last name was set in 探花大神.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-creating-a-new-jumpcloud-application-integration\"><strong>Creating a new 探花大神 Application Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">探花大神 Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>USER AUTHENTICATION\u00a0<\/strong>&gt;\u00a0<strong>SSO<\/strong> <strong>Applications<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>+&nbsp;Add New Application<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type the name of the application in the <strong>Search <\/strong>field and select it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the <strong>Display Label<\/strong>, type your name for the application. Optionally, you can enter a <strong>Description<\/strong>, adjust the User Portal Image and choose to hide or <strong>Show in User Portal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>If this is a Bookmark Application, enter your sign-in URL in the <strong>Bookmark URL<\/strong> field.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>Optionally, expand <strong>Advanced Settings<\/strong> to specify a value for the<strong> SSO IdP URL<\/strong>. If no value is entered, it will default to <kbd>https:\/\/sso.jumpcloud.com\/saml2\/&lt;applicationname&gt;<\/kbd>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card warning\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/warning-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Warning:<\/strong> \n<p>The <strong>SSO IdP URL<\/strong> is not editable after the application is created. You will have to delete and recreate the connector if you need to edit this field at a later time.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>Click <strong>Save Application<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If successful, click:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Configure Application<\/strong> and go to the next section <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Close<\/strong> to configure your new application at a later time <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Configuring the SSO Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To configure Tableau 1<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Login to <a href=\"https:\/\/sso.online.tableau.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tableau <\/a>as an administrator.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Settings<\/strong>, then <strong>Authentication<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In <strong>Authentication types<\/strong>, select <strong>Enable an additional authentication method, <\/strong>then select <strong>SAML<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Edit Connection<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Export metadata<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy the <strong>Tableau Online entity ID<\/strong> and the<strong> Assertion Consumer Service URL (ACS)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Download certificate<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To configure 探花大神<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"#creating-a-new-jumpcloud-application-integration\">Create a new application<\/a>&nbsp;or select it from the&nbsp;<strong>Configured Application<\/strong>s list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>SSO <\/strong>tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the <strong>IdP URL<\/strong>, leave the default value or enter a plaintext string unique to this connector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optionally, you can upload a service provider application&#8217;s XML metadata file to populate SAML connector attributes for that application. The attributes populated by the metadata file may vary by the application. To apply a metadata file for Tableau, click <strong>Upload Metadata<\/strong>, then select the Tableau metadata file you downloaded in the previous section. Be aware that if you upload more than one metadata file, you&#8217;ll overwrite the attribute values applied in the previously uploaded file. If you upload a metadata file, go to step 10.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For <strong>SP Entity ID<\/strong>, enter the <strong>Tableau Online entity ID <\/strong>you collected in To configure Tableau 1.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For <strong>ACS URL<\/strong>, enter the <strong>Assertion Consumer Service URL (ACS) <\/strong>you collected in To configure Tableau 1.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Upload SP Certificate<\/strong> and upload the certificate you downloaded from Tableau in the previous section.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Download the 探花大神 metadata<\/strong> <strong>file<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Find&nbsp;your application in the&nbsp;<strong>Configured Applications<\/strong>&nbsp;list and click anywhere in the row to reopen its configuration window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>SSO <\/strong>tab and click <strong>Export Metadata<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>探花大神-&lt;applicationname&gt;-metadata.xml<\/strong> will be exported to your local <strong>Downloads <\/strong>folder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card tip\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/tip-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Tip:<\/strong> \n<p>Metadata can also be downloaded from the <strong>Configured Applications<\/strong> list. Search for and select the application in the list and then click <strong>Export Metadata<\/strong> in the top right corner of the window.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To configure Tableau 2<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Back in Tableau, go to&nbsp;<strong>Import Metadata File Into Tableau Online<\/strong>, and upload the metadata file that you downloaded from 探花大神.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Apply<\/strong>. The IdP Entity ID and SSO Service URL fields are filled.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scroll to&nbsp;<strong>Match Attributes<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In&nbsp;<strong>Identity Provider Assertion Name<\/strong>, enter the following:\n<ol>\n<li><em>NameID<\/em>&nbsp;for&nbsp;<strong>Email<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>FirstName<\/em>&nbsp;for&nbsp;<strong>First name<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>LastName<\/em>&nbsp;for&nbsp;<strong>Last name<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the left-hand navigation, go to&nbsp;<strong>Users<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To give new user accounts SAML authentication, click&nbsp;<strong>Add Users<\/strong>, then follow the prompts for adding new user accounts. Make sure to select&nbsp;<strong>Add users for SAML authentication<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To give existing user accounts SAML authentication, select existing users . Then click the&nbsp;<strong>Actions<\/strong>&nbsp;drop down menu, and select&nbsp;<strong>Authentication<\/strong>. Select the option for&nbsp;<strong>SAML<\/strong>, then click&nbsp;<strong>Update<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"authorizing-user-sso-access\"><strong>Authorizing User SSO Access<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Users are implicitly denied access to applications. After you connect an application to 探花大神, you need to authorize user access to that application. You can authorize user access from the <strong>Application Configuration<\/strong> panel or from the <strong>Groups Configuration<\/strong> panel.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To authorize user access from the Application Configuration panel<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">探花大神 Admin Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to <strong>USER AUTHENTICATION &gt; SSO<\/strong> <strong>Applications<\/strong>, then select the application to which you want to authorize user access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>User Groups<\/strong> tab. If you need to create a new group of users, see <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/get-started-user-groups\">Get Started: User Groups<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the check box next to the group of users you want to give access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>save<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>To learn how to authorize user access from the&nbsp;<strong>Groups Configuration<\/strong>&nbsp;panel, see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/authorize-users-to-an-sso-application#user-groups-configuration-panel\">Authorize Users to an SSO Application<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"validating-sso-authentication-workflows\"><strong>Validating SSO user authentication workflow(s)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-idp-initiated-user-workflow\"><strong>IdP-initiated<\/strong> <strong>user workflow<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Access the <a href=\"https:\/\/console.jumpcloud.com\/userconsole#\/\">探花大神 User Console<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to\u00a0<strong>Applications<\/strong> and click an application tile to launch it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>探花大神 asserts the user&#8217;s identity to the SP and is authenticated without the user having to log in to the application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sp-initiated-user-workflow\"><strong>SP-initiated<\/strong> <strong>user workflow<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Go\u00a0to the SP application login &#8211; generally, there is either a special link or an adaptive username field that detects the user is authenticated through SSO<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card note\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/note-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Note:<\/strong> \n<p>This varies by SP.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Login redirects the user to 探花大神 where the user enters their 探花大神 credentials<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After the user is logged in successfully, they are redirected\u00a0back to the SP and automatically logged in<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Configuring the Identity Management Integration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To configure Tableau <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Log in to your Tableau Online business account.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to<strong>&nbsp;Settings<\/strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Authentication<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under&nbsp;<strong>Automatic Provisioning and Group Synchronization (SCIM)<\/strong>, click&nbsp;<strong>Enable SCIM<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will need the&nbsp;<strong>Secret<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Base URL<\/strong>&nbsp;values. &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Copy the&nbsp;<strong>Secret<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cgb-notification-card-wysiwyg notification-card warning\"><div class=\"notification-card-content\"><div class=\"notification-card-icon\"><p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/themes\/jumpcloud\/assets\/images\/gutenberg-blocks\/warning-icon.png\" \/><\/p><\/div><div class=\"notification-card-copy is-type-body-default\"><div><strong class=\"notification-card-type\">Warning:<\/strong> \n<p>The Client ID and Secret (token) may only be shown once. Copy them to a secure location, like the <a href=\"https:\/\/jumpcloud.com\/support\/get-started-jumpcloud-password-manager\">探花大神 Password Manager<\/a>, for future reference.<\/p>\n <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To configure 探花大神<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"#creating-a-new-jumpcloud-application-integration\">Create a new application<\/a>&nbsp;or select it from the&nbsp;<strong>Configured Application<\/strong>s list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>Identity Management<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By default, Group Management is enabled. Deselect&nbsp;<strong>Click Enable management of User Groups and Group Membership in this application<\/strong>&nbsp;if you don\u2019t want to provision, manage, and sync groups.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the&nbsp;<strong>Configuration Settings<\/strong>&nbsp;section, click&nbsp;<strong>Configure<\/strong>.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Base URL<\/strong>: Copy and paste the Base URL from the Tableau admin console.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Token<\/strong> <strong>Key<\/strong>: Paste the Secret that you generated from the Tableau admin console.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>activate<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You receive a confirmation that the Identity Management integration has been successfully verified and a Public Certificate is created.
