̽»¨´óÉñ® SaaS Management gives you visibility and control over shadow IT and SaaS app use within your org. Connectors detect shadow IT without adoption of a browser extension and provide a significant increase to the valuable usage and security insights.
The Google Workspace Connector retrieves users lists and data from the Google Workspace API, enabling seamless integration with third-party apps authenticated via Google credentials. It captures new users and login events via periodic polling and webhooks for real-time updates. This connector also ensures data integrity and security because it is configured via OAuth with read-only permissions.
Prerequisites
- To configure the connector, you must be a Google Workspace admin with read privileges.
Considerations
- Based on your organization’s size, the initial collection of data may take some time, up to an hour.
Configuring ̽»¨´óÉñ
- Log in to the .
- Go to SECURITY MANAGEMENT > SaaS Management.
- In SaaS Management settings, go to the Connector tab and select + Add Connector.
- Select Google Workspace and click Connect.
- Enter a name and click Connect
- Follow the redirect prompt from Google by clicking Allow.
- Google Workspace is added to your list of Connectors.
If permissions are accidentally removed, or if the admin who configured left your organization, the connector will stop working and you will be prompted to Reconnect.
Required Permissions
- View customer related information: Allows ̽»¨´óÉñ to collect the basic information about your Google Workspace, such as ID and domain name
- See info about users on your domain: Allows ̽»¨´óÉñ to list the users in your domains
- Manage data access permissions for users on your domain: Allows ̽»¨´óÉñ to capture discovered application data
Uninstall/Remove
- On the Connector’s detail page, click on Delete Connector and follow the prompts.
You can also revoke ̽»¨´óÉñ’s access through Google Security, but if the connector is not deleted in ̽»¨´óÉñ the data collection will stop and existing data will remain.
